Pacific North West Software Quality Conference, Portland Oregon US.

Pacific North West Software Quality Conference, Portland Oregon US.

2nd event on my 2nd half of 2024 season was a visit to West Coast of US. I had the privilege to be the speaker on the Pacific North West Software Quality Conference and it was the 42nd edition of the conference !! The conference is older than myself !!

The Pacific Northwest Software Quality Conference (PNSQC) was founded in 1982 as a non-profit Oregon corporation. PNSQC’s organisation is governed by its Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation. Annually, PNSQC provides a two-day technical program and a one-day workshop during our fall conference. PNSQC events draw participants from Universities and Corporations from around the world.

The conference was my 2nd try to be a speaker outside of Europe and I got accepted. It was also additional challenge as a technical paper author I gat to write a paper related to my subject proposal that will be published in the book the conference delivers to the best presentation and paper authors and sells on Amazon. Yes, my paper is there for 2024th edition !!

I gad a reviewer with huge experience who was a great support for me during the whole adventure of creating the paper and presentation. She had a lot of patience and understanding for me and also has an amazing experience, thank You Linda:

She made a beautiful introduction for my subject and myself as a person and gave me a gift of the Dark Chocolate Rum that I have near my desk right now writing about the adventure. Please observe her as she is a great member of our QA community.

So first of all, a bit about the trip adventure, west coast and especially Oregon state is beautiful. I rented a car and drove I think around almost 2 thousand mile with it during 8 days. Portland is located between the Pacific and Columbia river region with beautiful Mountains. You can dip You feet in Ocean and see the snow on Mt Hood at the same day, visiting wonderful waterfalls, rivers, forests and views in between.

And ahhh the WHAAAM Museum, Hood River Oregon You need to visit them if You love old airplanes, cars, motocycles - grat place and great collection, loved it !!

I love Oregon and Washington states and hope to visit them again this time for a bit longer and with my whole family.

Yes not much about Portland itself - I loved the Trailblazers and Winterhawks games visits, Hillsboroo was not accepting digital tickets. I loved the archery shops in near and far distance. Visit to Bowrack was my dream that I made in Eugene, I have a bow from Lucky Shot Archery. The open archery ranges in the parks were great, but the downtown and centre, I will just say progressive and liveral cities are not for me I felt better on the trips to the counties.

The conference itself is full of stars, if You and think about any authority in the testing domain in US they are there, or some of their coworkers or best friends are there. I was more than happy to meet Michael Bolton again since our last meeting in 2018 in Kiev. I had the privilege to introduce Jon Bach for his research presentation that I loved and there were many more that I probably mentioned in the initial LinkedIn post. For sure Tariq King, Bas Dijkstra, Jason Arbon and mentioned before Linda are some of the stars on the lineup.

You can see a lot more names, slides and some of the technical papers on the conference page:

I loved the ones from Jon Bach, Katherine Payson, Leslie Brooks, Sue Loth, Jeff van Fleet to mention the ones I had the opportunity to moderate of visit in the full time box scale. There are many more that I just could not make it, but can check on the page.

Thanks one more time to the organisers for having me a hope to be there again and loved the whole expirience and being back in US for few days.

PS. Big thanks for the Test Rigor team for the every day conversations and Eddie Ferris who I hope to see again in near future !!
